The Bursar’s Office (Economato) manages the finances of the Library and is the only office which is authorized to make or receive payments. It deals with the distribution and sale of the Library’s publications and with all the other reproductions of the Library’s materials; it supervises the administration of the photographic department and of the billing and shipping of reproductions ordered by readers; oversees the internal and external security of the premises; implements the technical measures required for the preservation of the Library’s collections; carries out the ordinary and extraordinary purchases, in agreement with the competent managers, after having verified the current market conditions; deals with the maintenance and cleaning of the buildings and of their rooms and furnishings.
